An exciting find from South Africa: Budstone in A-quality!
Mineralogically, it is an approx. 3.2 billion year old green slate, a metamorphic rock. Fuchsite (chrome mica) and clinochlore have given the budstone its intense green color. Other minerals contained can be rutile, eskolaite, plagioclase and kaolinite.
Size of the Tumbled Stone in size XL (extralarge) approx. 3.0 - 6.0 cm.
Each Packing Unit of 0.5kg contains approx. 22 - 28 Tumbled Stones.
As a polished tumbled stone, budstone is reminiscent of a closed flower bud. In the trade, the stone is also misleadingly referred to as African jade.
Origin: Barberton, Mpumalanga (South Africa)
Due to its similar visual effect, budstone is often used as a substitute for Prase, which is now rarely available.

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier, founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name, a specialist wholesaler for minerals, fossils, gemstones, tumbled stones, collector's objects and gift items made of stone. In the year 1998 I founded the brand Maulwurf Geschenke aus der Natur® in order to combine our product range for resellers, museum shops, dealers and other commercial users of the precious stones with our quality guarantee.
You will only receive mineralogically correctly identified stones from us, which promote the joy of collecting and experiencing the precious treasures of nature. Treatments such as coatings or coloring are always declared. Our own production in Asia guarantees the best quality at attractive wholesale prices and fair and transparent product procurement. I personally vouch for this.
