Eclipse (auripigment limestone) is used in gemstone healing to strengthen vitality and life intensity. In gemstone astrology, Eclipse is used to stimulate the regenerative power of Scorpio.
The origin of the name "eclipse" is unclear. However, it is presumably derived from the English term "eclipse", i.e. darkening, and alludes to the contrast between the black and yellow-orange colors of the mineral, which is reminiscent of a solar eclipse. Synonyms are bumblebee or bumbelbee jasper/jasper, bumblebee jasper or bumble stone, mustard jasper or mustard jasper, while the mineralogically correct term is realgar calcite.
