Magatamas are among the oldest known forms of gemstones and amulets; historical finds from burial mounds are known from around 1000 BC. Even today, the shape of the magatama is still important as a popular jewelry symbol. The symbol represents the human spirit and is considered a powerful amulet that provides effective protection against evil spirits.

Translated from Japanese, magatama means "curved pearl".

The magatamas were cut from phosphosiderite in our grinding shop in Haifeng.

Size of the stone approx. 3.2 x 1.6cm, thickness 8mm; diameter of the hole 3mm

Phosphosiderite is a rare mineral that is currently little known. Only recently have compact stones from Chile, Mexico and the USA been processed into jewelry and strands.

In gemstone healing, phosphosiderite is used as an invigorating and strengthening stone. In astrology, phosphosiderite is used to activate the dynamism of Aries and the regenerative power of Scorpio.

The name phosphosiderite is derived from "phospho" for phosphorus and "sideros (Greek for iron); the name given in 1890 by Franz Siegfried Willy Bruhns and Karl Heinrich Emil Georg Busz is also recognized by the International Mineralogical Association (IMA). The spelling phosphorus siderite is not correct.

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier and I am the founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name. Creativity and stones have been a topic for me since I was a child, and they first shaped my free time and then my entire professional life.

As a child, this began playfully with collecting and crafting with stones I had found myself and with the first minerals that my grandfather brought me from the Alps. Later, a fascination for processing, sawing, grinding, designing and artistic work with gemstones emerged. With our Chili Creative ® brand, we managed to build up a range developed by experts from our wholesale business and our production sites in Asia.

Today, numerous professional jewelry designers, goldsmiths, jewelry makers, jewelers and creative people from the online world such as Etsy and Pinterest providers use the components of Chili Creative® in their projects. With our tools, stone components, bead strands, pearls and silver parts as well as high-quality stringing materials, you can create creative jewelry projects that are highly profitable for resale.
