A rarity from Germany: Pyrite in slate!
Origin of the raw material Lehesten, Thuringia.
The historic slate mine in Lehesten in the Thuringian Forest is one of the oldest and largest open-cast roofing slate mines in Europe. Slate has been mined in Lehesten since the 13th century, split and processed into slate sheets, roof and wall cladding.
Size of the drilled Tumbled Stones approx. 3.0 cm, diameter of the hole approx. 2.5 mm.
In modern gemstone healing, Pyrite in slate is considered the stone of openness. It helps you not to take yourself so seriously and to laugh at yourself from time to time. Negative thoughts can be let go of more easily.
Pyrite in slate is also known as Apache gold in reference to its localities in the USA.
The white bands and areas are mostly quartz, occasionally also calcite.
