Maigano jasper was first found around 2011 near the village of Maligano on Kendari Island (Sulawesi, south-east Celebes). The colored jasper consists mostly of yellow, orange, red and pink material that has been caked with white, grey or black quartz - Maligano jasper is therefore a typical brecciated jasper.
In gemstone healing, brecciated jasper (also known as rubble jasper) is used to strengthen the willingness to deal with conflict and to help people not to lose heart after defeats and to carry on. Damage caused by conflicts can be repaired more easily with the support of the colorful jasper.
