Included quartz crystals are very special rock crystals: In nature, there are almost no 100% pure Rock Crystals, but mostly pieces in which liquids, gases, sediments or other minerals are included. In most cases, these inclusions are tiny and can only be seen with the naked eye as a small, natural disturbance in the pure crystal. Sometimes the inclusions Occurrence of a completely new mineral, e.g. rutile or tourmaline quartz. Initially, fine rutile fibers or schorl crystals are formed by slow cooling of siliceous solutions. As the solution cools further, these are then enclosed by the slowly forming Rock Crystal. Due to the nature of the inclusions, every quartz Localities in the world has a unique mineralogical "fingerprint" that reflects the geological conditions of its Occurrence.
This beautiful side polished piece comes from the northeast coast of Madagascar near the town of Mananara.
