"Baroque stones" are free-form nuggets. The natural shape is reminiscent of beautifully rounded river pebbles and is one of the most popular stone shapes. They are timeless, easy to combine and inexpensive.

The name Onyx is derived from the Greek word "onyx" for "nail"; this name, which has been in use for many centuries, probably refers to the surface of the polished stone, which is reminiscent of shiny fingernails. Spellings such as onix or onyk are therefore incorrect.
