Button faceted necklace, Spinel (black) with Rock Crystal, 4mm/45cm

The spinel necklaces with Rock Crystal are 42 cm long and have a 3 cm extension chain.

The faceted buttons are 4mm in size.

There are two theories for the origin of the name Spinel: Spinel is either derived from the Greek "spin(n)os" (to sparkle) or from the Latin "spinella" (small thorn). Various spellings of the mineral have been used in Europe since the 16th century, e.g. Spynell, Spinella and Spinellus. Today the spelling Spinel is common, occasionally also Spinnell can be found.
