Variegated calcite gets its bright colors from various natural admixtures of metals such as iron, copper and manganese. Calcites are very popular decorative stones and suitable for gemstone fountains.
Size of the stones approx. 3 - 5 cm, weight per orange calcite stone approx. 50 to 100 grams.
Particularly light-colored, yellowish orange calcite is also known as lemon calcite.
Other names for calcite are calcite/limestone spar, limestone, double spar and sea chalk. Calcite is also popularly referred to as "leg fracture stone".
