Ulexite - the "television stone
The crystalline structure of Ulexite leads to a special phenomenon: If the rough stone is cut across the fibers and then polished, underlying texts or images are projected onto the surface. This is made possible by the light-conducting transparency of the mineral. This phenomenon has also earned the stone the name "TV stone" or "TV rock".

The stones are about 3 - 4cm in size and come packed in a plastic case with a certificate card.
Ulexite received its name in honor of the Hamburg chemist and mineralogist Georg Ludwig Ulex. Synonyms are television stone, television rock, TV stone and TV rock.
Ulexite is slightly soluble in water; even slight contact with water can result in clearly visible traces on the stone.
