This small kingfisher (martin pescador) lives along streams and rivers and is often overlooked because it tends to perch low among the vegetation near the water, but its sharp ticking calls can give it away. On the way upstream or downstream, the green kingfisher flies with rapid wing beats, very low over the water.
The body of the gemstone bird is engraved from Serpentine, the beak is made of black calcite. The decorative tail feathers are made of light blue angelite. Base stone: Pyrite.
