The laughing Buddha with a worry bag is one of the most popular Buddha figures in Asia.

The shape of the fat and laughing Buddha has been a symbol of happiness throughout East Asia for over 1000 years. It stands for overcoming the suffering of our earthly existence. The friendly image is intended to bring happiness and light-heartedness into our lives. The depiction of the laughing Buddha with a large sack points to two legends: Firstly, he is considered to be the Buddha of prosperity, who carries a richly filled bag with coins and gold bars. On the other hand, he is regarded as the Buddha of happiness, whose greatest joy is to absorb people's worries and make them disappear into his large bag.

In Feng Shui, the Chinese doctrine for creating harmonious spaces, the laughing Buddha is often placed in the living room, directly opposite the front door. It can also serve well in the area of prosperity (north-west corner of your home, seen from the entrance).

Size of the rhodonite engraving approx. 8.0 x 6.7 cm.

The first scientific description of Rhodonite was made in 1819 by the German naturalist Christoph Friedrich Jasche. The pink color inspired Jasche to name it "Rhodonite", which is derived from the Greek word "rhodon" for rose or rose scent. Occasional spellings such as rhodonite, rodonite or rodonite are therefore incorrect.
