For this beautiful drinking vessel, a black cup was intricately decorated by hand with countless pieces of Paua Shell, grouted and polished.
Height of the cup 15cm, diameter 7.5cm; stone weight approx. 850ct.
The shell pieces come from Haliotis asinina, a popular delicacy in South East Asia.
This sea snail is popularly known as the dog-eared abalone.
