The colorful Charoite balls have a diameter of about 7mm, the whole Charoite strand is about 39cm long.
These beautiful chain strands have been cut from Charoite and intergrown minerals. The black areas are either Augite or Aegirine, greenish areas in the Charoite are Feldspar. Light or translucent areas are mostly canasite, yellowish-brown spots are tinaksite.
Charoite is used in stone healing to strengthen drive and determination. Making important decisions and coping with large, labor-intensive projects is supported by the mineral.
The name Charoite is derived from the place of discovery near the Russian river Chara. More correct would be the German name Tscharoit, but this name has not been accepted in retail or wholesale. Occasional spellings like Chaoirt, Caroit, Charoid or Charoiet are not correct.
