The small mother-of-pearl discs are approx. 2.5mm thick and have a diameter of approx. 3.7mm. Length of the mother-of-pearl strand approx. 40cm.
The term "Heishi" refers to small, often flat rocailles or beads, typically made from natural materials such as shells, horn or gemstones. Heishi beads are often used in jewelry making, especially in the traditional craftsmanship of indigenous peoples of the American Southwest, such as the Pueblo and Navajo tribes.
