The genuine mussel seed pearls are made from the kernel of oyster shells. The Mother of Pearl of the oysters is ground into a fine powder, enriched with natural dyes and applied to the core (from the same shell) in a very complicated process. This complex manufacturing process ensures that shell pearls are always perfectly round, have a wonderful luster and are a cost-effective alternative to genuine Tahitian or South Sea pearls. Shell pearls are 100% organic and can be cared for in the same way as real pearls.
All pearl strands are approx. 36 - 40 cm long and strung for transportation. We recommend always replacing the transport thread with suitable knotting material.
