An inspiring new find from Inner Mongolia in northeast China!
The polished 14mm spheres show the entire color spectrum from delicate cream colors to strong red-orange to dark brown. The round structures in the veining are typical of Mongolian agate, to which the mineral also owes its trade name of red eye agate. Another synonym is Gobi agate.

According to tradition, Mongolian agate was used thousands of years ago in its localities as a protective stone against negative energies. Eye agate is also used as a protective stone in modern gemstone healing. The mineral also helps people to face (unpleasant) things and situations, i.e. to look them in the eye.
