The gemstone malas consist of 74 amethyst beads (6mm diameter), 34 rudraksha nuts and are carefully knotted by hand with a thread that matches the color of the amethyst.
A pendant with the Om symbol and a chili pod (all made of 925 silver) is attached to the back of the malas.
The amethyst prayer chain is 86 cm long; the tassel is a further 8 cm long.
In modern gemstone healing, amethyst stands for inner peace; the mineral is used to support alertness and awareness as well as to strengthen judgment and constructive thinking and is therefore ideal for mala necklaces.
Rudraksha nuts are seeds that are traditionally dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva and are carried as a source of protection and inspiration. Rudrakshas are widely used as natural-looking jewelry in India and Nepal and are valued in a similar way to gemstones.
