Cabochon in classic setting made of silver 925.
The first, very small Sugilite finds were made in 1944 by Japanese professor Ken-ichi Sugi in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. A precise description was not made until a good thirty years later by a group of Japanese mineralogists in 1976, who named it after its discoverer, Ken-ichi Sugi. The sometimes encountered spelling Sugelith, Sugulith or Suggilith are therefore not correct. In the trade Sugilite is also called New Age Stone or New Age Stone; a synonym for Sugilite is also Luvulite.

Hello! My name is Marco Schreier, I am the stone-loving founder of the Mineralienhandlung GmbH of the same name. My career in the field of gemstones, precious stones, pearls and designer jewelry only began relatively late.
Originally, my attention was focused on collector's minerals, then on polished stone products such as tumbled stones, etc. Later, drilled stones were added, which, worn on a leather strap, were the first jewelry we offered. With the establishment of our office in Bali, Indonesia in 2001 and shortly afterwards our office and company in Hong Kong, I created the basis for integrating many of my favorites such as special crystals, specially cut, rare gemstones, free-form cabochons, beads and pearls into my own jewelry.
Chili Jewels® is our professional brand for the specialist trade with low wholesale prices and outstanding offers from our own production of silver jewelry, stone jewelry, necklaces and bracelets with real stones.
