This beautifully carved jasper comes from the mountains of Tasik Malaya in the west of Java (Indonesia).
The pattern with white spots that look like the claws of a dragon is very striking. The name "scale jasper" (red scale jasper) is also derived from this.
This gemstone is extracted from a depth of around 20 - 30 meters using a hammer, drilling and a lot of manual work.
Size of the drop-shaped cabochon approx. 14 x 20mm, stone weight 6.5ct.
The bezel setting and ring shank are made from highly polished, rhodiniert 925 silver; silver weight 4g.
Ring dimensions: height 2.5cm, width 2.1cm, ring size 57 (17).
