This beautiful quartz cluster with Tourmaline (black tourmaline) comes from the Himalayas (Gilgit/Skardu, Pakistan).
Size approx. 22 x 9 cm, weight approx. 1.936 kg
The tourmaline family is one of the most fascinating groups in the stone world with an incredible abundance of trace elements and can be found in all colors. Although only present in minute quantities, iron is responsible for the black color of black Tourmaline (black). Johannes Mathesius, a miner and priest from the Saxon Ore Mountains, scientifically examined and described the black Tourmaline (black) found there as early as 1562 and named it after its localities Tourmaline (black) (today Zschorlau).
