The history of the rosary as a prayer chain goes back to the beginnings of Christianity. In his writing "Consueverunt" of September 17, 1569, Pope Pius V definitively laid down the text of the "Ave Maria" and regulated the form of the rosary prayer and the 59-bead form we know today.
Every rosary consists of these centuries-old elements: + Sign of the Cross and Creed + Glory be to the Father and Our Father + Three "Hail Marys" with petitions for the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love + Glory be to the Father + Five movements, each with one "Our Father", ten "Hail Marys" and one "Glory be to the Father" The word "rosary" comes from the Latin "rosarium", i.e. "rose garden". In Christian iconography, Mary, the mother of Jesus, is symbolized by roses. The Feast of the Rosary on 7 October each year is also celebrated in honor of Mother Mary.
These beautiful rosaries are handmade from precious stone beads with matching colored cord. Each rosary is supplied in a press stud case with information in four languages.
