Beautifully polished Small Palmstone made from Australian rainforest rhyolite!

Rhyolite is also referred to as jungle jasper, Eye Care Stones, rainforest jasper, rainforest stone or meta-rhyolite in gemstone healing literature. The first scientific description of rhyolite was made in 1860 by Baron Ferdinand von Richthofen (1833 - 1905). The name rhyolite is derived from the two Greek words "rhein" (to flow) and "lithos" (stone) and alludes to the volcanic Occurrence. Of various possible spellings, e.g. rhiolite, riolite, ryholite or ryolite, rhyolite has become established in the retail and wholesale trade. Eye jasper is a well-known synonym; the terms quartz porphyry and liparite are obsolete.
