Gemstone malas are a great way to combine a current wellness theme with wearing jewelry. Our gemstone mala necklaces are carefully knotted by hand in our production facility in Bali (Indonesia). Thanks to our own production facilities, we can also manufacture malas to customer specifications and ensure the consistently high quality of the malas. Our wholesale range consists of prayer beads with just one gemstone or a powerful combination of several types of stone.
The composition of the individual gemstone combinations follows the findings of modern gemstone healing. The tassel at the end of the mala is made from the same material as the thread from which the mala is knotted. The tassel and thread thus form a harmonious unit. The malas are complemented by a small symbol pendant, e.g. Om sign or Flower of Life.
In addition to traditional jewelry stores, gemstone malas are mainly sold in yoga studios and in stores and institutions with a Buddhist orientation. While jewelers and jewelry stores usually focus on the prayer chain as a fashion accessory, mala buyers often associate a deep spiritual meaning and a devotion to Buddhism with their mala chain.
Each gemstone mala consists of exactly 108 beads - depending on the model, these are made of gemstones or rudrakshas. When choosing the right gemstone or combination of gemstones, the theme of the gemstone, color and grain as well as the intuitive attraction can play a role. Gemstone malas made of amethyst and Rock Crystal are particularly popular; amethyst supports spirituality and gives inner peace, Rock Crystal is the stone of purity and clarity. Choosing a gemstone mala based on its association with one of the chakras is also very popular if the theme of the chakra is to be positively supported by wearing the mala.
In addition to gemstones, rudrakshas are also used for our hand-knotted malas. These brown, round seeds come from evergreen trees of the genus Elaeocarous and are often used in prayer beads. Traditionally, rudrakshas are dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva and are worn in Buddhism as a source of inspiration and protection. As very natural-looking jewelry, rudrakshas are often valued similarly to gemstones and minerals.
The large guru bead of each gemstone mala is not used during meditation and the counting of mantras, but rather serves to interrupt the flow of energy in the mala. In addition, the guru bead serves as an orientation for the beginning and end of the meditation to determine when you have had all 108 beads of the mala in your hand as a counting aid when reciting the mantra.
For thousands of years, malas and their beads have been used by Buddhists and Hindus as prayer beads to support meditation. A selected affirmation or mantra is spoken aloud and repeated several times. In order to fully tune into the mantra and not be distracted by counting the repetitions, the beads of the mala are used as a counting aid. When reciting the mantras, the mala bead and bead, mantra and mantra are moved through the fingers. In this way, a deeper, more intense energy can be achieved in meditation.
We also have mala bracelets in our wholesale range to match the gemstone mala necklaces. With the help of a chain shortener, mala necklaces can also be worn around the wrist as a bracelet or hand mala instead of around the neck.
