The small nuggets of Chrysocolla (stab.) are about 5-9mm x 3mm; the whole strand has a length of about 40cm.

The name "chrysocoll" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and kolla (glue). The translation "gold glue" refers to the ancient use of the mineral in goldsmithing and granulating. The occasional spellings chrisocolla,
Chroysocoll, Chrysochol, Crysocoll, Krysokol or Crysocoll are therefore not correct. Synonyms for chrysocoll are chrysocolla, siliceous copper, siliceous malachite, copper silica, copper green or mountain green.
