"Stone Healing" has been considered THE standard work of modern stone healing since 1995. Previously published books always described the effect of healing stones in the context of other systems (astrology, chakras, Hildegard medicine, etc.), the "Stone Healing" broke away from this for the first time and showed that the essence and effect of the stones can be understood from within them! Results of the "Forschungsgruppe Steinheilkunde Stuttgart" (1988 - 1993) had shown that the effect of healing stones is not arbitrary, but follows certain regularities. Color, substance, structure and way of origin of a stone contribute in a consistent logic to its healing effect. This knowledge makes it possible to find exactly the right, the personally suitable healing stone for a very specific person in a specific life situation and with specific complaints. How this works is described in detail in "Stone Healing". In 1995 this was revolutionary!

Since "Stone Healing" also describes in a very clear and descriptive way how healing stones work on a spiritual, psychological, mental and physical level, it is at the same time a practical handbook, both for natural healing practice and for the personal use of healing stones. The combination of the profound background knowledge with the comprehensible descriptions of the effects (and of course the unique photos by Ines Blersch) made the book a bestseller: From 1995 to 2004, more than 140,000 copies were sold in German-speaking countries, and it was also translated into five other languages.

However, time has not stood still in the two decades since the publication of "Stone Healing": Further research and experience with healing stones deepened the understanding of their effects, new healing stones came on the market and gained importance (ocean chalcedony, schungite, etc.), and also in geology and mineralogy there were groundbreaking findings through new examination methods. Time therefore to update the "stone medicine"! And this is exactly what has happened now. In the process, the following has become apparent:

1. the principles described in the first edition published in 1995, how and why certain stones show certain healing effects, proved to be correct also in the light of new mineralogical and curative findings. They were thereby confirmed all the more!
2. also the healing effects of the stones determined from experience found their confirmation by new realizations in the geology. The principle "As the stones grow, so they work" was underlined e.g. by current researches about the origin of the stones quite clearly.

Thus recent research results, which prove that the amethysts of southern Brazil and Uruguay are not of volcanic, but of secondary origin, fit much better to the known purifying effect of these stones (the confrontation with foreign influences belongs to the secondary principle of action). That green aventurine quartz is a "falling asleep stone" also becomes more understandable since it is known that this is a metamorphic rock (the issue of letting go belongs to the metamorphic principle of action). Or the fact that the color of Rose Quartz is not caused by iron, manganese or titanium (as previously thought), but by fine fibers of Dumortierite (also known as "take-it-easy stone"), makes its effect more understandable. There would be many more examples of this kind, but in summary it can be said that the findings of the past two decades fully confirm modern stone medicine and make the effect of stones even more understandable!

These findings have been incorporated into the new edition of "Stone Healing" published in 2014. In addition, the book has been expanded to include important new healing stones (Barite, Halite, Onyx Marble, Ocean Chalcedony, Purpurite, Schungite, Seraphinite, Tektite, and others), and existing descriptions have also been deepened (e.g., Tourmaline). Thanks to the corrected mineralogical data throughout, the new edition is basically indispensable, especially for the "Analytical Stone Medicine". For this purpose also the table for finding the personally suitable healing stone has been revised and supplemented. On 29 instead of 13 pages (!) you will find now all (!) common healing stones! All in all, the book has been extended from 420 to 452 pages. The purchase of the updated new edition is therefore definitely worthwhile! In the spring of 2019, this classic then received a new cover.
