The undrilled garnet sphere has a diameter of 60 mm and is therefore also suitable for use on larger areas of the body.

Garnet and its effects are already described by Hildegard von Bingen as a stone under the name "carbuncle": "The carbuncle grows during the lunar eclipse and is nevertheless warm. [..]
