This gemstone strand is about 85cm long and strung for transport. We recommend that you always replace the transport thread with suitable knotting material.

The small slivers of light turquoise apatite are approx. 1-3mm thick and have a diameter of approx. 3-8mm.

In keeping with its name, apatite is used in gemstone healing to overcome inertia and apathy. Independence and determination are strengthened by the mineral.

The name apatite is derived from the Greek word "apatáo" meaning "to deceive" and was coined in 1786 by the German mineralogist Abraham Gottlob Werner (1749 - 1817). Since apatite occurs in numerous different forms and colors, there is a great danger that apatite will be mistaken for another mineral. Spellings like apartith, apathite, apatite, appatite or apatiet are not correct.
