Sieberachat balls size: 10mm
An unusual "stone" - from the Harz Mountains!
Sieber agate is not agate, but bluish slag from the Steinrenner smelter, which was formed during the smelting of iron ores from the Eisensteinberg.
The stone is named after the river Sieber in the Sieber valley (Harz); the misleading addition "Agate" points to the banding of the material. Very similar to the Sieber "Agate" is also the "Bode Agate" from the river Bode (Saxony-Anhalt, Harz).
